Management of the Patient with Myasthenia Gravis for Thymectomy

A method of management of myasthema gravis patients for thymectomy has been presented Preoperative preparation, conduct of of anaesthesia, and care in the postoperative period is discussed Emphasis has been placed on assesment and management of respiratory insufficiency and avoidance of anticholinesterase treatment in the immediate and early postoperative recovery period this eliminated the all too common hazard of "chohnergic crisis" The results, suggesting a reduction m operative mortality and morbidity, have beendiscussed
