The intravenous administration by a number of different techniques of fentanyl and dropendol in a proportion of 1 50 has been described Clinical experiences indicate that to avoid marked respiratory depression and difficulties with artificial ventilation, the combination should be administered slowly The analgesic and sedative properties are useful for anaesthetic maintenance and are of benefit during the recovery period Attention is diawn to the disadvantages of the "cnish induction" and to the value of these drugs m the anaesthesia of poor–risk patients.
