By clinical electromyographic studies the authors have demonstrated augmen–tation of the intensity and duration of actiom of non–depolarizing muscle relaxarits (D–tubocurarine and gallamme) in patients operated on for cardio–vascular disease, and who during the course of anaesthesia and operation presented haemodynamic problems and modification? in acid–base balance The principal factor responsible for increase in the intensity of the neuromusculair block is the degree of metabolic acidosis
