The untoward effects of succinylcholine have been briefly reviewed.
The seriousness, significance, and manner of causation of these effects have been superficially discussed in the light of present knowledge
It isconcluded that the untoward effects directly attributable to the drug are either of little significance or of rare occurrence. Some are of more theoretical and pharmacological than practical interest, and most can be avoided or minimized by careful use of the drag and well-managed anaesthesia.
