Book Review |
Montréal, Québec
This book has clearly not been written for the North-American medical personnel or hospital infrastructure. However, the World Health Organization (WHO) is probably suggesting reasonable approaches for resuscitation and anesthesia for the district hospitals in developing countries. This book briefly presents some basic medical concepts and covers several important topics for health care providers administering anesthesia in developing countries. It also proposes the use of drugs probably available everywhere (i.e., ether, ketamine, paraldehyde ...). The WHO is clearly targeting a specific environment and this book is probably well adapted and useful in that medical context.
