Dr. Bevan practiced as a pediatric anesthesiologist and clinical researcher until 2000. During the previous twenty years, she received research and educational support from peer -reviewed grants and pharmaceutical companies; mostly related to investigation into new anesthetic agents and neuromuscular blocking drugs in children. Since retirement from clinical practice, and changing her professional role to that of consultant ethicist, Dr Bevan professional focus has been on research and publication ethics.
